David Scott Orner
Founder and Partner

Biography

David founded GlobalView Capital, LLC and has been active in all aspects of the business since its inception in 2003. Over his career, David has worked in a variety of international and domestically-focused investment banking and finance roles including private investing, corporate finance, cross-border structured products, high yield, debt capital markets and acquisition finance.

Most recently, David was a Managing Director with Pier Six Capital, LLC, a middle market private investment firm focused on the Aerospace, Defense and Government (“ADG”) sectors. Prior to that, he was a senior member of The CIT Group’s Aerospace & Defense Finance team, where he led the group’s leveraged finance origination and execution efforts for the eastern United States. Previously, Mr. Orner was a member of the ING Capital’s Acquisition Finance and Debt Products & Private Placements groups and the CIBC World Markets Transportation & Defense Investment Banking group.

David started his professional career as a member of the International Tax Services practice of KPMG where he assisted foreign and domestic multinational clients on tax issues relating to cross-border mergers & acquisitions, investments and financing transactions. His experience includes a secondment to KPMG’s Moscow, Russia office where he assisted clients in the tax and legal aspects of cross-border investment and business in Russia.

David is a former Intelligence Officer in the United States Navy. His active duty and reserve experience included assignments with USS AMERICA (CV-66), Atlantic Intelligence Command and Naval Special Warfare Unit Two. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.

Mr. Orner holds a LL.M. (Taxation) from New York University School of Law, a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and a B.S. cum laude (and Honors Program distinction) in Finance and Economics from University of Tampa. David is a CAIA Charterholder and Moody’s Certified Credit Analyst, and holds a FINRA Series 65 license.

Ryan Jon Orner

Biography

Ryan joined GlobalView in 2017 to help lead the firm’s private capital investment business, participating in all aspects of the investment process, from business development, to structuring and executing transactions, to operations and portfolio management.

Most recently, Ryan was the Founding Partner and Managing Director of Alta Mergers & Acquisitions Partners, LLC a middle market boutique investment banking firm focused exclusively on M&A originations and related M&A transaction advisory. He spent the majority of his investment banking career with Merrill Lynch & Co., split between the Financial Sponsors Group and Merrill Lynch Capital. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Mr. Orner held positions with CIBC World Markets Corp. and SunTrust Banks, Inc. Through these roles covering both middle market and large market private equity sponsors, Ryan successfully completed 25 leveraged buy-out and recapitalization transactions representing over $12.0B in enterprise value, $7.0B of leveraged loan and high-yield financings, and more than $1.0B of IPO transactions.

After leaving Merrill Lynch in 2009, Ryan spent nearly five years successfully leading the Targeted Search activities of Chestnut Hill Partners, LLC, a boutique middle market investment bank focused on mergers & acquisitions originations. Ryan subsequently founded Alta M&A Partners to continue working across the Targeted Search and M&A originations market. As Managing Director, he originated ten highly strategic middle market M&A transactions across multiple private equity sponsors and numerous Targeted Search engagements.

Ryan received a B.S. in Finance and Political Science from Florida State University, where he served as Student Body President. He went on to earn a M.B.A. from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.

In addition to his full-time work in banking, Ryan gives back to his alma mater and helps train the next generation of bankers as an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Florida State University, where he enjoys teaching the Investment Banking class offered as core curriculum of the Master of Science in Finance Program.
